better health and higher performance for the modern guitarist

improve your playing & be pain free

stiff? painful?

Playing guitar can be taxing. Painful wrists, tight and tense forearms, aching shoulders, tingling, numbness, inflammation…

You are not alone with your symptoms.

And even if you are not a professional with an obligation to perform, injury or discomfort can still make it impossible to enjoy your favorite hobby, let alone improve in it.

After getting rid of a stubborn wrist pain (caused by playing guitar and training) in 2015, I realized how widespread these types of injuries are amongst musicians.

Utilizing my knowledge and connections in the field of movement rehab, I spent the next years researching, learning, and experimenting.

My foam rolling seminar where I teach coaches and trainers.

The first version of my method was born in 2017. Since then, I’ve had the luck to help countless guitarists become pain-free for good by solving the root issues.

Throughout the years I refined and updated the methodology – the result is the guitarstrength course:

A comprehensive, working approach that will help you reach your goals faster and easier. (…How I wish I had something like this back then!)

I struggled with recurring wrist pain for months, which made playing guitar almost impossible. I started doing the learned techniques, and my symptoms were completely gone in 3 days.

My girlfriend also had a similar wrist problem because of her office job, and the exercises helped her as well.

how it works

the course features some of the best therapeutic techniques used in sports and physical therapy.

here's what each module is about (super-long dropdown toggle)

modules 1 & 2: how the body works and what happens with chronic symptoms

As they say, knowledge is power. Understanding the actual process that creates the symptoms is half the battle. Plus, if you know what is happening and why, you will be able to customize the exercises to get even better results in less time.

module 3: improving the function, quality, and metabolism of your muscles, tendons, nerves and fascia

This step will reduce or eliminate pain, tightness or weakness in your hands and arms, enabling you to play longer without tensing up or experiencing any negative symptoms. You will regenerate faster and move easier.

module 4: revitalizing your hands, and restoring proper control via special exercises

The days of weak, trembling and unstable hands are over. Freeing up the nerves and doing a few simple exercises will make your hands feel strong, stable and ready to play with the highest precision – so you will be the one in control.

module 5: smart strengthening and mobilization for increased resilience

Higher resilience means more resistance to negative effects – like practicing that impossible lick for hours on end while sitting still with a hunched back and bent wrist. A strong, balanced body can endure more without negative consequences.

module 6: body awareness – the most important skill to have

Developing body awareness is absolutely critical for high performance and good health. Your guitar playing will improve, along with your sense of well-being. It’s also crucial for recognizing those subtle changes, so that you can take action in time.

module 7: organizing everything into an actionable plan

The course is indeed comprehensive! This module is an overview of everything you will have learned so far. It provides a sample routine for you to use, plus guidelines to help you customize it to fit your personal needs.

module 8: next-level techniques for proper, optimized practice

This module contains advanced tips on the topics of breathing, getting rid of excess tension, and how to easily stand and sit up straight, so you can take your guitar practice to the next level.

the method is helping guitarists since 2017

The first version of this course was offered locally, with great success – guitarstrength is version 2.0, bringing it to a whole new level.

Greg, The course is phenomenal. I have nothing bad to say about it. I was really starting to doubt whether or not I was going to be able to keep practicing high level stuff. I had reached a dead end and out of desperation thought I’d give your course a try. I’m not completely well yet, but this is the first time in many months that my carpal tunnel symptoms have gone away. I am going to recommend this course to all guitar players I meet. I wish you only the best,

sincerely Charles

I lift weights and play guitar… I had wrist pain, especially on the left side, which was fractured years ago. The method is easy to follow and helps me stay pain-free.

Very very important stuff, I wish I had heard about it sooner…

I haven’t even finished the online course yet, but the exercises I’ve done so far (nerve mobilizations, and the ones with the ball) have decreased my wrist problems. There is a noticeable reduction in stiffness and pain when I play guitar.

The ganglion is still there on the inside of my wrist, but it seems to be getting smaller and softer.

So far I’ve had zero injuries, but I was curious how sports, movement and healthy lifestyle could improve my guitar skills. I’ve barely started but I already love that it’s so extensive… It even includes nutrition.

I bought the course and it actually taught me how to play guitar (even though it’s not about technique). Specifically, it made me realize what I had been doing wrong for decades. It looks like it’s possible to make serious progress over 50 [years of age], but if the technique is faulty, there will be none, despite hours of daily practice. I learned from well-known jazz guitar teachers, and none of them said anything about these things.

By the way, I had problems with my picking hand. Now I can handle long sessions much better with no numbness at all, and I don’t feel as stiff as before. So it’s really worth paying attention – it’s like a sport, you need maintenance : )

I really took a few [exercises] to heart – I do them regularly, any time I need to. I customized a few others… the point is: the course already benefits me greatly!

stop worrying, start playing

the guitarstrength course is ideal for any musician

In the course, you will pick up valuable self-care techniques and mindsets that will help you in most other areas of your life, too (you use the same body 24/7, after all).

All this knowledge would cost you a lot of time, and well over $1000 to acquire otherwise.

What are your alternatives?

visiting a specialist

Visiting a chiropractor, a physio- or physical therapist, or an exceptional massage therapist could be a good idea. However, one session costs about 60-120 USD, and it is likely that you would have to go weekly for a while…the money and time spent can add up very quickly.

healthcare

Conventional healthcare can be slow and complicated, or very expensive (or both), and offers a surprisingly low success rate. Yes, even surgery. And the current epidemic made the situation even worse.

doing nothing

Doing nothing and just waiting for symptoms to disappear on their own rarely works – and even if it does, the symptoms will return sooner or later.

the guitarstrength course is the same price as about 5 sets of guitar strings, and will provide benefits for the rest of your life by saving your hands.

The learned exercises will be always at hand, whenever you need them.

FAQ

For a full FAQ, please check the FAQ page

what exact problems/symptoms does it solve?

The method is most successful with the following: repetitive strain injuries (RSI), tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS), postural problems, and other muscle and joint pains. These are responsible for 95% of the problems that musicians experience.

However, since the method fundamentally improves the function and condition of the upper body, other dysfunctions and symptoms not listed here will respond positively to it as well.

is this about guitar techniques?

No – there are already more than enough courses covering that. We don’t even touch the guitar. Instead, the guitarstrength course is about special movement exercises and other rehabilitative techniques. Guitar playing is only discussed briefly in the last module. For further info, consider reading this article.

will it work for me?

There is no miracle cure, but if you apply what you learn, and actually do the exercises (they take 5-10 minutes a day at most, maybe even less for prevention), then improvement is (almost) guaranteed.

I play on a different instrument (or not at all), will it still work?

Yes! The method is not ‘instrument-specific’, so it will work for musicians of all kinds, and even for office workers, carpenters, painters, and so on.

whether it’s prevention, or getting rid of nagging symptoms, the guitarstrength course is your best option.
